manual lymphatic drainage

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a gentle, rhythmic form of bodywork designed to support the natural movement of lymphatic fluid through the body.

Using light, precise, and repetitive movements, MLD works with the direction and pathways of the lymphatic system rather than applying deep pressure. The technique can be deeply relaxing and is often used to support healthy fluid balance, circulation, and the body's natural processes of recovery and elimination.

MLD may be especially supportive when the body feels congested, swollen, sluggish, or in need of gentle care. Each session is adapted to your individual needs and can be a quiet, restorative experience that encourages the body to soften and settle.

THIS WORK CAN HELP WITH:

  • Supporting healthy lymphatic circulation and fluid movement

  • Reducing temporary fluid retention and feelings of swelling

  • Supporting recovery following certain procedures or injuries

  • Encouraging circulation and tissue recovery

  • Calming and regulating the nervous system

  • Promoting relaxation and a sense of lightness

  • Supporting the body's natural processes of healing and elimination

  • Bringing greater awareness and ease to the body

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

MLD is not appropriate in some circumstances. It should generally be avoided with active infection or fever, untreated congestive heart failure, acute blood clot or suspected thrombosis, or certain active cancers. Additional precautions may apply depending on your health history, medications, or recent surgery.

If you are unsure whether MLD is appropriate for you, please consult with your healthcare provider before scheduling.
